Taking advantage of the opportunity to join the staff of the Army and Navy Academy in October of 2010, Ken started out his tenure as Director of Summer Programs helping facilitate and promote on-campus summer leadership training programs and unique recreational camps, annually serving over 300 young co-eds from around the world.
After an organizational re-structuring in 2014, Ken’s role evolved to include responsibility for the successful implementation of all campus recreation activities. Pulling from a diverse professional recreation background that has included time spent with the YMCA in Massachusetts, Missouri, and San Diego, Ken oversees all aspects of the Recreation Department’s budgeting, administration, program facilitation, risk management, and staff recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision while providing program reviews, planning, and development advice to the Academy administration. Working closely with full-time and seasonal staff, Ken is accountable for weekend Cadet activities during the school year along with recreation and leadership camps during the summer months.
As a major contributor to the Army and Navy Academy recreation team, Ken continues to work or creating positive experience for all Cadets and campers, guided by the mission of the Army and Navy Academy and philosophy of ANA Summer Programs providing pathways and opportunities for youth to develop self-discipline, leadership, respect for others, self-esteem, and a sense of accomplishment while striving towards realization of individual potential.
