Built for boys, the Army and Navy Academy campus is a close-knit thriving community with a wide variety of student services to support our Corps of Cadets. From the health center to our popular cadet store, everything you need as a cadet is right here on our private school campus. The academy offers a variety of services to ensure academic progress, athletic participation, and active engagement in extracurricular activities. Various departments support technology, health, dining, safety, security, bookstore purchases, and places to study and learn. The academy is located on a 16 acre beachfront property in Carlsbad (San Diego County).

Boarding School on the Beach!
A home away from home, the Army and Navy Academy is an internationally recognized college prep military school geared for boys in grades 7-12. Similar to a college setting, the day and boarding school campus is set on full facility campus with direct beach access. Just one of many great campus services!
Nestled in the quaint village of Carlsbad in San Diego County, students are within walking distance to the village center, shopping, restaurants, movie theaters and rapid transit.
We strive to ensure that our students have everything they need to be safe and comfortable while living away from home. From chef-inspired meals to state-of-the art athletic facilities, beach access, oceanview recreation hall and lounge areas, student enrichment center, library, classes, and labs, the campus is ideal for a college prep school experience.
Dining Services
The Army and Navy Academy takes pride in our café style food service. Cadets can enjoy a variety of delicious homestyle meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are always hot items in addition to the daily sandwich and salad bars. In partnership with Culinart, we strive to please based on student and family input.
Of course, no dining establishment would be complete without offering mouthwatering pizza and a deli station featuring high quality deli meats, cheeses, and homemade soup. The café caters to the health conscious, offering nutritional information on our products and making all menu items with fresh quality products.
Information Technology
Digital literacy is a critical skill that must be appropriately managed. Our Information Technology staff operate, maintain, and monitor a secure, campus-wide wireless network with blazing fast speeds for all cadets.
Students are issued a Chromebook as part of uniform issue. IT is also here to help support students’ personal laptops, desktops, tablets, and gaming systems. Our campus boasts robust computer labs for homework, research, music composition, and video editing. All academic classrooms are equipped with a touchscreen Promethean board for educational support.
Students learn to use various technologies to do research through online libraries and educational websites. Our staff is here to ensure that technology systems are running smoothly and being used responsibly.
Information Technology’s goal is to ensure that cadets are well prepared for the unique challenges of an increasingly digital world.
Facilities
The facilities team keeps our campus facilities clean and well-maintained.
Campus Projects completed by this team, include:
- Renovation of Davis Hall Foyer – new paint, light fixtures, flooring, and renovation of trophy cases.
- Renovation of Board Room – new paint, furniture, and technology.
- Renovation of Admission Office – new paint and furniture.
- Establishment of recycling program.
- Rest areas and gazebo settings on campus.
- Landscaping and gardening projects on campus.
- Beachfront deck and improvements in lounge area.
- Recreation Hall renovations and upgrades.
Facilities is responsible for campus beautification and the team is working toward the Master Plan goal of environmental sustainability.
Library
Visiting and using our library helps students pursue academic research needed to complete homework and assignments. Additionally, students may want to spend some free time choosing an eBook, book, or magazine to read. The library also have technologies and a computer lab available.
The Student Enrichment Center also offers a number of learning resources.
Books, reference materials and online databases are excellent sources of information.

Transportation
Our Transportation Department takes students to medical and dental appointments, athletic games, public transportation stations, and to off-campus weekend activities.
Shuttle to/from Train Station
Requests for transportation between ANA and the local train station must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance with the itinerary.
Airport Trips
Transportation services to airports are available for the fees established. Contact transportation for details regarding shuttles to: San Diego International Airport and Carlsbad Palomar Airport. We do not provide transportation to or from LAX; however, students learn how to use services (train, shuttle, cabs) to get to this airport.
Please submit your itinerary to the Transportation Department at least one week before departure. Please keep in mind that the Academy does not provide return transportation to the Academy, so you must schedule a shuttle or cab.
Local services offer rides to the train station and rides to the San Diego International Airport. Operations can provide details or the TAC assigned.
Medical and Dental Appointments
The Health Center schedules appointments in coordination with Cadet Life and families (as needed). They will notify the Transportation Office of the appointment.
For students under 18 years old, a driver or chaperone will remain with the student and parent/guardians will be charged an hourly fee. If your son is dropped off and picked up after the appointment, you will be charged an hourly fee.
Emergency Room Transportation
We provide transportation to the Emergency Room. If the cadet is under 18 years old, an Academy Staff member will remain with him the entire time. If he is 18 years or older, we will remain if the student/facility recommends it.
If we must stay with the cadet, parents/guardians will be charged an hourly fee. If we drop off and pick up after the cadet is treated, a fee will also be assessed.
International Arrivals
In an effort to ensure a smooth and steadfast process for your son’s arrival into the United States and at the Academy, we recommend international students book flights into San Diego Airport or Palomar Airport.
