Best Boarding School for Golf
Want to play golf at a military high school that offers both a day and boarding program? Golf is a great hobby to pick up and it is an excellent sport for networking later in life. Golf at boarding school is both challenging and socially interactive. Students get to play at local country clubs like El Camino Country Club, practice their sport during free time, and participate in tournaments.
Benefits of Playing Golf – The sport holds an interest for many throughout their lifetimes. Not only does this sport get you out into nature, it gives you a rigorous workout, and cultivates social skills. Our students know how to set sport and fitness goals and achieve them. Whether they are in the classroom, out on the course, or trying out new clubs, they stay engaged and active.
Golf Tournaments – The season includes a number of local golf tournaments and high school students enjoy access to golf courses at El Camino Country Club and other golf courses in San Diego County. Given the high level of interest in golf at our military boarding school, we always make sure to include a golf tournament during Alumni Weekend. Unlike many other private schools with golf teams, our students stand out due to their high level of focus, as well as physical and mental fitness. This pays off on the course!
Golf Courses in San Diego – Locally in Oceanside and Carlsbad, there are a number of country clubs and golf courses, including: El Camino Country Club (Oceanside), Eagle Crest Golf Club (Escondido), Native Oaks Golf Club (Valley Center), Ocean Hills Country Club (Oceanside), and Rancho Carlsbad (Carlsbad).
Ranking – Listed as one of the best boarding schools for golf by Boarding School Review, Army & Navy Academy offers the best weather, country club access, and dynamic tournaments. Day students are also able to participate in this sport!
International Appeal – It is no secret that golf is popular in the United States and worldwide. With our rich mix of U.S. citizens and international students, we find golf to be a popular sport at our military academy geared for boys. International students from various countries, such as: Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Japan, often participate and enjoy golf as a sport of choice at Army and Navy. Besides preparing for college and improving English skills through our ESOL program, international students can unwind and lower their stress by playing golf with their friends.
Golf is a Top Networking Tool
Interested in the world of business? Many Army and Navy Academy graduates matriculate to top business colleges and universities, and major in marketing, finance, international business, hotel management, accounting, or entrepreneurship. As they move from college into business-related or other careers, they often find that golf is a great way to network.
Supporting Charities through Golf
Golf is a great way to give back by participating in charity tournaments. Our focus on community service has an impact on our students long after graduation. We are so proud of our alumni and their support to various charities, including: Feeding America, United Way, Salvation Army, Red Cross, and many other organizations.
