Jamie is the twelfth grade English and AP Literature teacher as well as the English Department Chairperson at the Army and Navy Academy. She has been at the Academy for 7 years. She serves as the advisor of the Harvard Model Congress Team and Co-Advisor for Honor Council.
Jamie has taught English in grades 9-11 and AP Language and Composition before her current role as the sole twelfth grade English teacher at the Academy.
Jamie enjoys working with the Cadets, helping them become critical thinkers and preparing them for life after high school. She has a literature and discussion based class which focuses on students reading for homework and coming to class prepared for a Harkness discussion. The students use and pass “Franklin,” our class football, when they want to share.
Jamie was raised primarily in San Diego but has lived in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Texas. She attended San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!) for her undergraduate degree in English for single subject teaching. Jamie is credentialed to teach English, Language Arts, Reading, and Writing in grades eight through twelve in both California and Texas.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
