Denise Martin earned a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Psychology from the University of California San Diego (UCSD); A teaching degree in Mathematics from the University of California San Diego (UCSD); and Graduate studies in teaching Mathematics at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). She also received a Spanish language fluency classification from the University of California San Diego (UCSD).
Ms. Martin possesses a Single subject clear Teaching Credential in Mathematics with a supplemental in Psychology.
She has been teaching since 1986 (18 years in public school and eight years in private school).
Through all her years of teaching, she has been trained in most of the various Math curriculums, and is Gurian trained, SDAIE certified, and AVID certified. She was a leader in the Global Internet Academy at one of her past schools where she taught html code to her students and made the first webpage for the school. She has taught all levels of Mathematics from basic arithmetic to Calculus.
Ms. Martin was born in San Diego. She has lived there her whole life. She has two sisters and is married with a son, daughter, and two dogs. Her hobbies are playing piano, doing puzzles, and taking long walks with her dogs.
Ms. Martin loves working at the Army and Navy Academy. She enjoys working with the boys and supports the efforts of the school’s mission which is to educate, mentor, and develop good character and leadership in young men.
