Chelsea Mukisa is the school psychologist at the Army and Navy Academy. Her responsibility is to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of cadets on campus. She provides psychological counseling to students on campus who need additional support. She works with staff to assist students with learning or educational plans and provides consultation to teachers. She also works with the administration, faculty, and staff to promote a positive school climate.
Chelsea obtained her Masters of Arts in School Psychology and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Fresno Pacific University. She previously complemented coursework at Bethel Seminary San Diego in the Marriage and Family Therapy degree program. She graduated with honors from the University of California San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minor in Law and Society.
Chelsea is passionate about education and has worked in the field since 2010. She is also an advocate for the mental health and wellness of young adults. She has worked with low income and economically marginalized youth in San Diego, as well as overseas in Uganda, East Africa. She spent several years in Uganda counseling and supporting children and youth transitioning from homelessness into homes. She believes that every child deserves an education and the opportunity to be successful.
For fun, Chelsea loves to surf, snow ski, hike, and travel to new countries with her family. Mostly, though, she loves to dance. She has taught dance for many years and loves trying new moves and styles. Chelsea is extremely happy to be serving our cadets and staff as a part of the Army and Navy Academy.
