The end of the school year is a time of reflection of accomplishments and successes for each of our cadets whether it be their academic grades or extracurricular activities which includes not only the JROTC program and others but a subject that is near and dear to our hearts – athletics.
We encourage each cadet to get involved in an athletic program from the beginning of their Army Navy experience. The bonds that are made with their ‘team’ can follow them all through their life which can be attested to by several of our returning Alums. Countless stories are told and re-told during Alumni Weekend of how the Academy has shaped their lives and the majority of those experiences involve either the teams they played on or the coach that helped mold them into the person they are today.
A further testament to this is located in the foyer of Davis Hall where trophies and plaques greet each who enters. Some are difficult to read but that does not take away anything from the rich history of our beloved Academy.
Some of our Awards are given with certificates, trophies, plaques but it is the Perpetual Trophies that will be viewed by those visiting the campus. Our newest inductees are:

- The Babe Miceli Most Valuable Player for Football – Thomas Brown
- The Mitchell Most Improved Player for Football – Varden Bernstein
- JV Football Most Valuable Player – Richard Kearns
- Outstanding Golfer – Richard Kearns
- Williamson Trophy – Mikhail Stanich
- Harold L. Martin Trophy for Excellence in Athletics – Derrick Buchanan
- Letterman’s Club Trophy – Thomas Brown
- Ray Johnson Most Improved Player in Soccer – Wing Tsoi
- Fowler-Ware Most Valuable Player in Soccer – Weston Littlefield
- GNK Uniform Most Valuable Player in Swimming – Garrett Kennedy
- Most Improved Player in Tennis – Edward Gyde
- Outstanding Trackman – Sherman Coley
- Most Valuable Player in Water Polo – Mike Arciniega
- Outstanding Wrestler – Bradley Bechtold
Three Sport Letterman: To be eligible, a cadet must participate each season in a varsity sport.

We are also proud to announce a new Perpetual Trophy that is forthcoming – it is the Black Lion Award which is awarded to a Varsity Football Player. This is the third year that it has been earned, this year it has been awarded to – Thomas Brown.
