Campus Setting

The Academy has been established in its current location in Carlsbad since 1936. It is about 35 miles north of San Diego and about 80 miles south of Los Angeles. The campus consists of 29 buildings on 16.5 acres, including a gymnasium, cafeteria, library media center, eight classroom buildings, recreation center, chapel, nine dormitories, six eight-man cottages, and four staff houses. In addition, the campus contains administrative offices, a swimming pool, tennis courts, athletic field, private beachfront, and a rifle range. The Academy owns all its property by virtue of a bequest from a benefactor who willed the land with a conditional use stipulation that the Academy operate as a non-profit institution governed by a board of trustees.

The Academy's pristine location on the Southern California coast provides year round outdoor activities as well as a terrific backdrop for frequent visits by friends and family. The quaint village of Carlsad offers cadets a variety of restaurants and shopping for their leisure time. Nearby attractions include Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Sea World, the World -famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park and many other museums and activity parks.

"Dear TACs/Teachers of ANA,

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for everything that you do for my son every single day.  I have seen such a tremendous change in Devonte over this past year and I know that it is a direct reflection of the caring and dedicated teachers and TAC officers at ANA.  You have all helped make this difficult transition easier for him and have been there when I could not be.  I honestly don't think that the teachers and TACs could have done a better job for Devonte this year.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for my son just as I would!!

With warm regard,
NaTasha
