Message from the Head of Lower School

For over 100 years, the Army and Navy Academy has specialized in educating young men during their adolescent years—a time when they are forming attitudes, opinions and habits that will serve as the foundation of their growth.

The Academy recognizes that students learn in different ways, vary in their innate ability and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. At our school, students advance in their ability to discover knowledge and develop additional skills. Classes are organized to meet our students' needs, and extra assistance is provided through a variety of support systems.

Students who attend the Army and Navy Academy's Lower School also learn responsibility and build their self-confidence. They must be on time for scheduled events, gain rapport with their classmates in a structured boarding school setting, complete their assigned homework and generally follow through with the tasks that are part of everyday life in our setting. As the young men move through the grades, they begin to take on leadership roles and set positive examples in our community setting. The adults at our school play a variety of roles and deliver an education that we believe meets our students' cognitive, physical and emotional needs.

We are dedicated to helping our students become confident learners and responsible leaders. If you are intrigued by what you see and read on our website, we invite you to visit our campus.
