October 7-9, 2011 – PATRONS' WEEKEND

Patrons' Weekend is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 7, 2011.

The following activities are planned for the weekend: Classroom Open House, Commissioning Ceremony, parade, and ANAPA sponsored event.  On Friday evening, JV and varsity football games are scheduled to have a home football game on Maffucci Field, "Friday Night Lights."  JV and varsity water polo will have home games.

November 4-6, 2011 AUTUMN BALL WEEKEND
Autumn Ball Weekend begins on Friday, November 4, 2011. You will be informed by email when a complete schedule of events will be posted to the Academy’s website.

The Autumn Ball  is held on Saturday evening for cadets and is one of the Academy’s longest-standing traditions. Senior parents are encouraged to participate in the Ball receiving line to formally greet the President, administrators, honored guests and members of the Board of Trustees.

The Senior Ring Ceremony, Parade, and an ANAPA sponsored event are held during Autumn Ball Weekend. An additional highlight to the event schedule is the first Parent-Teacher/RLO conferences of the year, which are held in the Davis Hall Gymnasium by appointment only, on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. You will receive more information about how to sign up for conferences on-line from the Academic Office. The Academic Office will send out information in early October about how to schedule your conferences.

March 16-18, 2012 – GRANDPARENTS WEEKEND

One of our most exciting events of the school year is Grandparents' Weekend, held in honor of the grandparents of our cadets. Grandparents' Weekend begins on Friday, March 16, 2012. You will be informed by email when a complete schedule of events will be posted to the Academy’s website.

Events usually held during Grandparents' Weekend include a BBQ on the beach followed by the annual senior class fundraiser, the rank toss auction. The rank toss auction allows 7th through 11th graders an opportunity to buy the services (and the rank) of a First Classmen for a day. Underclassmen enjoy bidding on their “favorite” senior, knowing they’ll be able to have their shoes shined, room cleaned, etc., by a member of the First Class.

Grandparents' Weekend provides a second opportunity for parents to formally speak with teachers and Residential Life Officers (RLO). Conferences will be held on Friday and Saturday in the Davis Hall Gymnasium. Parent-Teacher/RLO conferences will be scheduled on-line, through the Academic Office. The Academic Office will send out information in late February on how to schedule appointments.

During Grandparents' Weekend the second formal dance of the school year is held. The Ball begins with the receiving line. Grandparents and Parents of First Classmen are welcome to enter the Davis Hall Gymnasium at this time to greet Academy administrators and honored guests.

May 18-20, 2012 – ALUMNI WEEKEND

Alumni Weekend will begin on Friday, May 18, 2012, and is designed for the Alumni of Army and Navy Academy to return to the Academy, bond with old classmates, as well as form new relationships with other alumni, staff and current cadets. Cadets are required to remain on campus and participate in some of the Alumni Weekend activities. Again, closed weekend protocol for cadets are in place. Note: It is imperative that all cadets remain on campus for all of the ceremonies and participate in the various rehearsals and activities scheduled throughout the week.
