David Howard Signs National
Letter of Intent

David Howard has made the history book again at ANA by signing his National Letter of Intent for a full scholarship.

Howard has been at the Academy for (4) years and has benefited from the coaching styles of John Maffucci, John Farrell, Bobby Huggins, and Chad Huggins. His basketball career at the Academy has become legendary by the awards that he has accumulated:

• All League, 1st Team
• Player of the Year in the Coastal League North
• North County 1st Team
• CIF, Div IV, 1st Team
• All San Diego County CIF, 2nd Team
• All Star Games, North vs South and North San Diego County vs Riverside South

 

When Head Coach John Maffucci was asked about David’s success he said, “David is a hard worker, an excellent leader, exhibits an outstanding attitude toward the game of basketball and is also a good student who works hard to excel in both athletics and academics. It was a pleasure for me to coach him this year. He is a friendly outstanding individual and I have no doubt that he will do well at the next level.”

Coach Maffucci along with the rest of David Howards’ Academy family is very proud of his accomplishments both on and off the court. He carries a 3.13 GPA and currently holds the rank of Battalion Sergeant Major which is third in command of the corp of cadets.

David Howard will be a shining star for the Humbolt State ‘Jacks where he will continue in his basketball career. At this time he has not decided upon a major.

Humbolt State is located on the beautiful Northern California coastline next to the Giant Redwood Trees!
