Excellence in athletics isn't simply all about winning. Even with seven CIF championships and 75 league titles, winning at the Army Navy Academy is not just about the final score. Cadets also win when they work as a team, sacrificing individual needs for a common goal and showing resilience by picking themselves up, practicing and trying again. These are the scores that really matter when we move from the playing field to the field of life.
More than 85 percent of our cadets participate in some competitive athletics program. We encourage everyone to get into the game—both on and off the field. Interscholastic sports have been a vital component in The Army Navy Experience since the day the school was founded over 100 years ago. Army Navy sports teams are known as the Warriors, and there are 11 varsity sports. We are members of the Pacific League in all sports except basketball, where we belong to the Coastal League, and we are also a part of the CIF San Diego Section. Additionally, the Athletic department sponsors hockey and surfing club teams.

Coaches are dedicated to providing cadets with a positive athletic experience that will highlight respect, responsibility, loyalty, integrity and discipline. With these values come the true pride of being and always remaining an Army Navy Warrior. Warrior Pride!
Criteria for becoming a member of one of the athletics teams are motivation to work hard, willingness to expand your learning capacity, and a positive and supportive attitude to all team members. Limited enrollment in the Academy allows cadets to be able to participate in almost any sport, regardless of skill level. These criteria are part of what makes the Academy a unique environment for young men to nurture all of their capabilities and realize their potential.
