Message From the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Army and Navy Academy

Dear Patron,
Jim Collins wrote in his book “Good to Great” that good is the enemy of great. We don’t have great schools because we have good schools … It is just too easy to settle for Good.
As Army and Navy Academy looks back on our legacy of over 100 years, the Board is committed to making Army and Navy Academy a great college preparatory military school. We have the right leadership, faculty and staff, and we provide the environment and resources necessary to "educate and develop good character in young men.".
Our performance and results far exceed those of public schools. Our cadets learn to be leaders—independent, mature and self-reliant. On average, 98% of our cadets matriculate to college or university, with the majority attending four-year universities. Recent graduates are currently attending prestigious universities including: MIT, Rutgers, Penn State, USC, NYU, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, Boston College, University of Colorado, University of Oregon, University of Washington, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Citadel, VMI, West Point and other fine colleges and universities. Our alumni are leaders in academics, the arts, business, government, science, sports, technology and the military.
During the next few years, the Academy will strengthen and expand its international outreach. Our cadets come from over 13 states and 14 countries. We are generating an international environment of learning that will help our students to become successful in a world of constant change and globalization.
We are reinforcing the customs and traditions we have developed over the past century to help guide and instill the pursuit of our core values of leadership, excellence, honor, responsibility, loyalty and compassion.
It takes teamwork to make the Academy great—faculty, staff, parents, cadets, alumni and trustees working together to successfully meet our educational, financial, social and technological challenges. Our journey to greatness will be exciting, fun, and rewarding. We at Army and Navy Academy look forward to the opportunities that the future holds for us and we invite you to join us in our journey.
